The product descriptions of Axial® radio control vehicles include their specifications, which tell you exactly how large or small each RC rig is. Even without looking at the specifications, however, you can usually get a good idea of the general size by the vehicle scale, often included with the vehicle name.
Axial remote control vehicles are available in four scales: 1/6, 1/10, 1/18, and 1/24 scale. The bigger that the bottom number is, the smaller you can expect the RC rig to be. The 1/6 scale Axial SCX6™ Jeep® JLU Wrangler 4WD Rock Crawler is nearly three feet long and 14.55 inches high. The 1/24 scale SCX24™ Deadbolt™ 4WD Rock Crawler is less than eight inches long and under five inches high.
One common misconception among inexperienced RC drivers is that all vehicles in one scale, such as 1/10, are more or less the same size. That’s not necessarily true. Scale is a ratio comparing the model’s size to a full-size vehicle. A 1/10 scale RC vehicle based on a massive full-size monster truck may be significantly larger than a 1/10 scale RC vehicle based on a smaller full-size buggy. Further, not all radio control cars and trucks are based on actual full-size vehicles. Their scale is an approximation of how the size would probably compare to a real vehicle, if it existed.
The best way to understand the size of any Axial RC rig is to review the specifications. Most Axial RC vehicles are 1/10 scale and are built on the SCX10™, UBT10™, RBX10™, SMT10™, or RR10™ platforms. The 10 in the platform name represents the scale. The SCX6 platform is 1/6 scale, and the SCX24 platform is 1/24 scale. The Yeti Jr. is the only 1/18 scale Axial RC rig.
