The size of Axial® radio control vehicles is indicated in their product descriptions, which include specifications that tell you exactly how large or small each RC rig is, and by the vehicle scale included in the vehicle name. Axial remote control vehicles are available in four scales, the largest being 1/6 scale. The 1/6 scale Axial SCX6™ Jeep® JLU Wrangler 4WD Rock Crawler is 14.55 inches high and nearly three feet long.
At 1/6 scale, the ready-to-run (RTR) Axial SCX6 platform brings a new dimension to large scale RC crawling. Whether you’re a fan of full-size off-road vehicles, RC rock crawling, large-scale remote control models, or all of the above, you’ll be thrilled by the amount of realistic detail and high-performance functionality captured in its impressive size.
The 1/6 scale SCX6 takes Axial scaling to the next level. Based on the proven SCX10™ III platform, the SCX6 chassis might be considered its big brother. It’s engineered for extreme durability and performance with AR90 standard axles and a durable, reinforced, three piece axle housing for a rugged, solidly built design. For optimal handling, the chassis has a three-link Panhard front and four-link rear suspension setup. All links are metal and all pivot points are on stainless steel balls.
The large scale SCX6 platform’s oil-filled shocks have aluminum threaded bodies and a single coilover spring. The shocks are tunable for achieving the best dampening rate. The large bore size creates more fluid volume for better performance. Additional mounting points allow you to further fine tune your suspension settings.
Out of the box, the SCX6 is configured for two speeds with high and low gears. A Spektrum™ S614 Metal Gear Servo is included and installed for the two-speed linkage. Massive, 7” tall BFGoodrich® KM3 tires provide excellent grip and ground clearance for dirt, rocks, and all other off-road surfaces. They’re mounted on licensed Black Rhino Primm injection-molded, 3-piece beadlock wheels for easy tire replacement without gluing.
While the 1/6 scale size allows generous room for impressive detail, the SCX6 still fits conveniently into the trunk of your car — and most rock gardens and hiking trails provide plenty of exciting challenges to overcome. Just add your choice of suitable battery and take on the rocks!
