At 1/6 scale, the ready-to-run SCX6 platform brings a new dimension to radio control crawling — and Axial® engineers have done it right. Whether you’re a fan of full-size off-road vehicles, RC rock crawling, large-scale remote control models, or all of the above, you’ll be thrilled by the amount of realistic detail and high-performance functionality found here.
The SCX6 takes Axial scaling to the next level. Based on the proven SCX10™ III platform, the SCX6 chassis might be considered its big brother. It’s engineered for extreme durability and performance with AR90 standard axles and a heavy-duty spool. The durable, three piece axle housing is reinforced by a molded truss up top and extra triangulation below, making this a solidly built, rugged design, and an excellent choice for a 1/6 scale RC rig.
For optimal RC rock crawler handling, the chassis has a three-link Panhard front and four-link rear suspension setup. The front suspension has been optimized to reduce bump steer, while the rear four-link reduces torque twist and aids against suspension wrap-up in high power applications. It also helps with steep off-camber climbs by having the proper anti-squat and roll characteristics. All links are metal including the steering. All pivot points are on stainless steel balls that provide a durable, long-lasting suspension point.
The SCX6 platform’s oil-filled shocks have aluminum threaded bodies and a single coilover spring. The shocks are tunable for achieving the best dampening rate. The large bore size creates more fluid volume for better performance. Additional mounting points allow you to further fine tune your suspension settings.
Out of the box, the SCX6 is configured for two speeds with high and low gears. A Spektrum™ S614 Metal Gear Servo is included and installed for the two-speed linkage. The front and rear Wildboar™ HD8 driveshafts feature a large diameter (3.5x17mm) cross pin along with an M6 screw shaft for added strength. The captured cross pin design increases durability and simplifies maintenance. A center splined slider floats between each end of the drive shafts. The compact, hardened steel front universal joint axles provide up to 45 degrees of steering and smoother action for a higher performing, efficient drivetrain.
While the 1/6 scale RC size allows more room for impressive detail, the SCX6 still fits conveniently into the trunk of your car — and most rock gardens and hiking trails provide plenty of exciting challenges to overcome. Massive, 7” tall BFGoodrich® KM3 tires provide excellent grip and ground clearance for dirt, rocks, and all other off-road surfaces. They’re mounted on licensed Black Rhino Primm injection-molded, 3-piece beadlock wheels for easy tire replacement without gluing.
With the included Spektrum™ DX3™ radio, you’ll enjoy the superior range, response, and interference resistance of exclusive DSMR® technology. Together with the installed Firma™ Crawler 120A Smart Sensored-Brushless ESC, it also comes ready to deliver the telemetry advantages of exclusive Spektrum Smart technology.
