Paul talking about R/C and AxialFest 2016
Recently, over the past 3 years, I have also acquired a passion for the RC hobby. I have met great people and I love the end result of many creations out of a stock vehicle. Getting to make it better and better with design and through trial and error. With that I decided to create an RC club and find people who were interested in the same things as me. Having fun and building all types of vehicles with great people. Last year was an ultimate experience when my vice president and I came to Axialfest 2016 to see what it was all about. It was one of the greatest experiences I've had with so many different people day after day. Everyone out doing what we all loved; crawling!
This emotion took me by storm. When I got home I was in my studio listening to beats and working on some projects and then it hit me; BOOM!! An AxialFest song!! My mind exploded when I heard the sound of the beat and lyrics started to poor onto my notepad like water in a glass. I spent night and day writing ideas and then started recording it. When I was close to finishing it up and asked my wife to listen to it and her eyes lit up and she said "wow that sounds really good". "You should send it to them!” So I worked to finished it up and sent it off and within a day or two guess what? I got a phone call from Axial and they loved it! They loved the energy and enthusiasm that I had put together and they wanted to do something awesome with it. We talked back and forth and I agreed to their offer with great excitement on this project! I greatly appreciate Axial for the opportunity to be a part of this project and look forward to a great relationship going forward. So thank you again Axial and the entire staff for this opportunity!! So, who is Paul Valdez? Someone who loves to create! Whether it be music, crawlers, or just plain fun. He appreciates every piece of support he gets for doing the things he loves!! Like Paul always says, "Love your dreams and follow your passion!"
Paul Valdez aka UNLIES. Meaning? TRUTH!
ABOUT PAUL VALDEZ UNLIES
Paul started rapping when he was around 15 years old, messing around with a keyboard, starting to create his "flow". He started seeing other people rap and figured he would give it a shot. Every beat he heard, he wanted to rap to it. He started buying beat tapes from a local store and began rapping freestyle (which is rapping off the top of his head without writing it down). At parties he would rap about everyone in the room and made them all a part of his story. Paul and his friends would drive down the street with a beat playing and he would rap about every store or street that they passed turning it into a story. He has a love for the creation of music and the reaction people would get from his lyrics. When he was 19, his favorite venue became karaoke bars, allowing him to do his thing until 10pm several nights a week. People were amazed that he could take a beat and include everyone throughout the bar on the spot. He would rap about their clothes, hair, shoes, drinks, and even food like it was a song that he had just written. He would rap with no flaws, or stumbling of words, and it created a certain type of buzz. People would whisper "look there's that rapper". A unique thing about him, is that he doesn't use cuss words to tell his stories and people appreciated it when he was on the stage performing. He is always getting compliments on his ability to be a story teller. Throughout the years he was asked to be a part of many concerts, many with major names. During this time, he also gained knowledge through helping with the promotion and event planning of other concerts. I was just another love in the process of creation. When he has an idea it's like painting a picture that he can already see. When he "feels" a beat, it brings something out in him and the creation process begins like a fireball. Making songs is a great passion for Paul, and it will always be a part of his life.
